Scituate Beautification Commission
It is the Mission of the Scituate Beautification Commission to enhance the beauty of the Town through planting and maintaining selected public spaces, using community resources.
Volunteers take care of 30 small gardens, called Adopt-a-Lots, and traffic islands, and manage the maintenance of 12 islands at 5 commuter rail crossings. The Commission also supports the planting of flower boxes by the merchants in Scituate Harbor, North Scituate, and Greenbush.
In the Spring we coordinate “SHIP SHAPE DAY,” a Town-wide volunteer clean-up effort. In addition, we promote Plant Scituate, a program that encourages residents to include marigolds in their pots and garden beds to demonstrate a sense of community.
The Commission is looking for volunteers and/or board members who are willing to share a little of their time to keep Scituate beautiful and blooming.
